Once again, Lucile-Meisel organized a songwriting session from 20 – 22 November 2023, in which 18 renowned authors from the German-speaking music scene took part.

For three days, the writers worked in intensive creative exchange with the artists Franca Morgano, Sonia Liebing and Christian Lais, who were directly involved in the songwriting process via video call. In three days, numerous tailor-made new tracks were created, some of which will be featured on the artists‘ new albums.

The renowned authors include André Stade, Benjamin Schwenen, Benjamin Brümmer, Simon Allert, Jens Lücking (Hens Hensen), Niels Megens, Marvin Trecha, Filippo Grasso, Matthias Teriet, Kurt Schoger, Annemarie Eilfeld, Tom Marquardt, Terence Olivier, Ela Querfeld, Linda Stark, Alexander Scholz, Torben Klein and Tobias Witte.

At Villa Mas Sant Jordi on the Costa Brava, 13 creatives met over four days to work together on songs in four teams, each with three authors. All three acts had traveled to Spain to participate in the process of creating new works on site. Four tailor-made tracks were written for each artist and listened to together in a relaxed atmosphere. „Inspired by the wonderful Spanish landscape, this resulted in a total of twelve great songs,“ shares the publisher.

„The songwriting session in Spain was a complete success,“ judges Kirsten Meisel, Managing Director Lucile-Meisel Musikverlag. „For the second time, we were able to give our writers the opportunity to engage in creative exchange with the artists in an inspiring and familiar atmosphere. It is with pride that we now present twelve outstanding new songs that have emerged from this intensive collaboration. A special thanks goes to the Lucile-Meisel team who prepared this session so carefully. Without them, this great success would not have been possible.“

For Marcus Zander, publishing director Lucile-Meisel Musikverlag, the quality of the songs created during this songwriting session speaks for itself: „The direct exchange between the talented authors and artists was extremely motivating and led to incredible creative energy. During a joint boat trip, all participants then had the opportunity to take a creative break in one day to recharge their batteries. I am thrilled with the results and look forward to the next session!“

In addition to the Lucile Meisel team with Kirsten Meisel, Ina Wiens (Copyright/Creative Meisel Music), Leandra Marzluff (A&R Lucile Musik Verlag), Christopher Gronau (A&R Meisel Music) and Marcus Zander, the songwriting session was also attended by the exclusive author: inside Anja Krabbe, Tanja Lasch, André Stade, Benjamin Brümmer, Filippo Grasso, Mathias Roska, Hens Hensen, Benjamin Schwenen, Dominik Gassner, Oli Nova, Simon Allert and Tom Marquardt participated; Matthias Teriet was digitally connected.

From August 23rd – 25th 2022, the Lucile-Meisel Songwriting Sessions took place at the Hansa Studios in Berlin. Supported by GEMA for the first time, interested members of the collecting society could apply for a place. Peter Müssig from Hamburg prevailed against 100 competitors and was present as an author on all three days. Finally, the traditional Meisel-Hansa Hoffest took place August 26th.

The Songwriting Session Summer 2022 focused on the Austrian singer and actress Simone, the young singer Mela Rose and Julian Reim. For three days, the 18 authors worked intensively in teamwork and in close personal exchange with the artists present on 18 new titles. Divided into six studios, each with three alternating authors, they wrote for one of the artists every day.

The songwriters Anja Krabbe, Tanja Lasch, Alexa Voss, Ela Querfeld, Linda Stark, Simon Allert, André Stade, Alexander Scholz, Bernhard Wittgruber, Benjamin Schwenen, Jens Lücking, Niels Megens, Matthias Teriet, Kurt Schoger, Tom Marquardt, Dominik Gassner, Benjamin Brümmer and Peter Müssig went into creative exchange on all three days.

The Lucile-Meisel team around Kirsten Meisel, Ina Wiens, Leandra Marzluff, Safia Bohm, Christopher Gronau, Marcus Zander and Basti Becks draws a positive balance, as Kirsten Meisel, Managing Director Lucile-Meisel Music Group explains: „It was again a great pleasure for all participants to work together with other creatives in a professional environment and this great positive atmosphere in the Hansa Studios. The musical results are convincing. Thus, 18 promising new titles were created this week.“

For Marcus Zander, publishing director Lucile-Meisel, it was „once again impressive to see and hear how our authors created tailor-made compositions, lyrics and arrangements for the invited artists in a very short time. We will continue our successful concept of writing in direct exchange with the artists in the future.“

Christopher Gronau, A&R Manager Lucile-Meisel Music Group & Telamo, emphasises that the very special, almost magical atmosphere that arises when you work in the Hansa Studio radiates to all creative people. „This was also noticeable at this session from the very first second and the outstanding results speak for themselves.“

From 24-28 August 2020, LUCILE-MEISEL Musikverlag hosted its first songwriting sessions at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin. Artists such as Tanja Lasch, Sotiria Schenk, Paulina DSDS 2020, Bernhard Brink, Ross Antony, Mitch Keller and renowned authors from the pop scene worked together on new songs for a week in the traditional studios.

We are happy that we were able to organise such successful songwriting sessions despite the special circumstances. The artists‘ „being there“ and the joint work gave all participants an extra portion of motivation. The direct and creative exchange between artists and writers helped everyone to achieve focused and more specific results for the respective artist. Very good songs came out of it. We are already looking forward to the releases!
